Beast Mastery Hunter BFA Raiding Guide

Best Hunter DPS Raiding Spec: Beast Mastery
Difficulty Rating: Hard

Playing Beast Mastery Hunter is easy but mastering it is hard. It will require constant monitoring of your Barbed Shot stacks, cooldowns, and Focus.

Beast Mastery Hunter Raiding Build

1 Target Priority:
Stampede
A Murder of Crows
Barbed Shot
Kill Command
Chimaera Shot
Cobra Shot

– Barbed Shot increases your pets attack speed by 30% for 8 seconds and stacks up to 3 times. Spreading out your Barbed Shots so that you refresh the stack right before the old stack wears off makes a huge difference to your dps. You want to reach 3 stacks and keep it refreshed as long as possible. You won’t be able to keep it forever because Barbed Shots recharge time is slightly longer than it’s duration. However, you can get it to refresh 3-5 times with the help of Wild Call procs. Before you begin stacking the shots you should save up until you almost have 2 charges available. Just before you’re about to get the 2nd charge begin your Barbed Shot cycle.

– Everything else is pretty straight forward. Don’t let your Focus get to max by using Cobra Shot when everything is on Cooldown.

1 Target Power Rotation:
Bestial Wrath
A Murder of Crows
Stampede
Kill Command
Barbed Shot
Chimaera Shot

2 Target Priority:
Stampede
A Murder of Crows
Chimaera Shot
Barbed Shot
Kill Command
Cobra Shot

– Chimaera Shot now does the most damage (besides for the big damaging cooldowns).

3 Target Priority:
Stampede
A Murder of Crows
Chimaera Shot
Barbed Shot
Multi-Shot
Kill Command

– This is when you start doing Multi-Shot. Multi-Shot does most of it’s damage through your pets Beast Cleave, which makes it’s melee attacks hit all targets around it for 75% damage for 4 seconds. You won’t spam Multi-Shot. Instead, you’re going to use it every 4 seconds to put Beast Cleave on the target, then during that 4 seconds you’ll be busy keeping your Barbed Shot refreshed, using Kill Command, and Chimaera Shot. Since most of your AoE damage comes from your pets melee attacks, you’ll benefit a lot from keeping your Barbed Shots refreshed, and using Bestial Wrath.

4+ Target Priority:
Stampede
A Murder of Crows
Barbed Shot
Multi-Shot
Chimaera Shot
Kill Command

– Multi-Shot now does more than Chimaera Shot and takes priority. Only use Chimaera Shot and Kill Command during the 4 seconds when Beast Cleave is on the target.

Stat Priority
Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility

FAQ

What pet should I use?
– You can use any pet you like, as they all do the same amount of damage. The only difference is the benefits you get from the Pet Specialization. Ferocity gives you a damage buff spell, and leech, which is the best choice for leveling. If you’re having a problem staying alive for some reason, then you can go Tenacity to give yourself 7% more health and a damage reduction spell. Although, you should never have a problem staying alive while leveling Beast Mastery. Cunning is only useful for PvP.

Does Bestial Wrath increase damage of Murder of Crows, Barbed Shot, and Stampede?
– It increases Murder of Crows and Stampede damage, but not Barbed Shot. Barbed Shot will always do a set amount of damage.

Does Bestial Wrath increase Murder of Crows and Stampede damage if they were used before using Bestial Wrath?
– Yes, both of them will then begin ticking for increased damage the moment you use Bestial Wrath.
