Arms Warrior BFA Raiding Guide

Best Warrior DPS Raiding Spec: Arms
Difficulty Rating: Hard

Arms Warrior is easy to play but hard to master. There are several variations of rotations that you need to follow to do maximum dps. Priorities change based on what cooldowns are available, and when certain damage windows are active from Avatar and Colossus.

Arms Warrior Raiding Build

1 Target Priority:
Colossus Smash
Execute
Rend
Mortal Strike
Overpower
Bladestorm

Initially you may think Bladestorm does more damage but you need to consider that it takes 6 seconds for Bladestorm to do it’s full damage, and you can’t attack during Bladestorm.

1 Target Powerful Rotation:
Avatar
Rend
Colossus Smash
Mortal Strike OR Execute (as many times as possible)
Bladestorm

This rotation goes slightly against the priority list so it may be confusing:
– You’re basically trying to fit as much damage in the 20 second Avatar window and 10 second Colossus Smash window as possible. You use Rend before Colossus Smash because it lasts for 12 seconds and Colossus Smash lasts for 10 seconds so you have time to use it before Colossus Smash and still take full advantage of the 30% increased damage. Rend will start ticking for extra damage as soon as Colossus Smash is used.
– You’ll use Mortal Strike and Execute as much as possible. In the case of Mortal Strike, you’ll only get to use it once since it has a cooldown. In the case of Execute, you’ll use it until all your rage is gone. If you can use Execute the entire 10 seconds then do that instead of using Bladestorm. Execute does more dps.
– You’ll use Bladestorm to use up the rest of the 10 second window. It’s ok if you didn’t fit the entire Bladestorm duration in the window.
– Avatar is 20 seconds long and you’ll have no problem fitting this rotation into that timeframe.
– Ideally you would like to begin this rotation when you’re at close to full rage.

2 Target Priority:
Sweeping Strikes
Colossus Smash
Execute
Rend
Mortal Strike
Overpower
Bladestorm

2 Target Powerful Rotation:
Avatar
Sweeping Strikes
Rend
Colossus Smash
Mortal Strike OR Execute (as many times as possible)
Bladestorm (after rage is gone)

3+ Target Priority:
Bladestorm
Sweeping Strikes
Colossus Smash
Execute
Bladestorm
Rend
Mortal Strike
Overpower

3+ Target Powerful Rotation:
Avatar
Bladestorm
Sweeping Strikes
Rend
Colossus Smash
Mortal Strike AND Overpower OR Execute (as many times as possible)

– Bladestorm now dominates.

Stat Priority

FAQ

Does Avatar increase Rend damage?
– Yes, it increases Rend damage.

If you already have Rend on the target and I use Avatar, will the rend do more damage?
– No, unlike Colossus Smash, Rend will tick for extra damage if Avatar is used while Rend is already on the target. You need to use Avatar first and then Rend in order for Rend to get the 20% damage bonus from Avatar.

Does Sweeping Strikes apply Rend to the 2nd target?
– Yes it does.
